About Me
When I was fifteen, I was sure I wanted to study humanities in high school and continue with political science and international relations at university. Imagine it's 1992 and you live in a small town and this field is even unfamiliar to some of your teachers. Then, the bigger problem is that you have an excellent average and seem very intelligent to the school principal, and in short, with your mother's complicity, they convince you, no, they force you to choose the math major. Well, I was too stubborn to give in, and so in my second year of high school, I deliberately failed myself so they would let me study humanities. The fact that I'm here now as a math teacher talking to you about myself must have given away the end of the story, but let me tell you the rest. It was agreed with me that I would study math in high school and then change my major for university, and I became the studious daughter of Mrs. Mom and the hard-working student of Mrs. Principal again. When it came time for the university entrance exam, I still saw myself as president, if not at least a minister, an ambassador, or something, but Mrs. Principal saw me as a math teacher, and fate grabbed me by the collar and took me to math teaching classes. I was doomed to become a math teacher and I did, but then I realized that this was really my place. In the classroom, with teenagers whose world I know how to understand, while teaching them math, we peek into each other's worlds and practice and experience life; with the same humanities that I myself tried to learn and enjoy.
Teaching Method
From my very first teaching experiences, I understood that each student and each classroom requires its own teaching method, but now that I'm working on more specialized educational sciences, I can confidently say that teaching methods are not just about educational facilities and applied educational strategies. That's why, depending on the personality traits of students and facilities and conditions, we measure which path is more attractive for our learning and has fewer bumps, and of course, math, because of its complex quirks, ties our hands a little, but our feet are still in our own hands and we can go a way that both math is satisfied with us and we tolerate it with less annoyance. In short, whether we use smart boards, light pens, and modern technologies or the same old simple pen and paper, we learn math and not only do we have no regrets about it, but we are also very excited to have overcome it.
Experience
I was hired by the Ministry of Education at the age of nineteen and until a few years ago, I was a full-time teacher in the Iranian education system. During my university years, I worked with the Dabiran Qalam Institute and taught privately. After the Covid-19 pandemic, I started teaching online in English and have been doing it ever since. I have a master's degree in mathematics from Khaje Nasir Toosi University and now I have completed a master's degree in educational sciences in the Netherlands and my focus is on interactive learning and I am researching and experimenting in the field of instructional design with a focus on interaction between student and teacher and within the framework of new technologies.
