Ali Dehghan

About Me

My name is Ali Dehghan. I began learning the Radif in 2010 under the guidance of the renowned master Seyyed Reza Tabatabaei, and completed the program with his approval to teach the Radif. I continued my studies with masters Mohammad Motamedi, Mojtaba Asgari, and Hamid Reza Nourbakhsh. I also studied breathing techniques and vocal fundamentals under Mohammad-Ali Kiani-Nejad and vocal aesthetics under Reza Shakeri. Over the years, I have also completed vocal training courses based on the methods of Roger Love, Lara Browning, and Edin, and I continue to develop my skills through these approaches. I have performed extensively with professional musicians, and several pieces from my own work as well as collaborations with composer friends have been released. I currently teach at several leading music institutes, and in 2020, I also taught at the Music Conservatory in Shiraz.

Teaching Method

First, we need to train your ear so that you can sing more accurately and stay more in tune. Our ear works much like a painter’s eye—the more precise it is, the better the final result. So, we begin with ear training, and then continue with vocal training tailored to the color and quality of your voice. After this stage, we move on to singing songs in the fusion style, as well as learning the Radif and Tasnif repertoire in Iranian classical singing. There will be a structured plan provided to you, which you can print out. We will review it together every week and check off each completed item. This way, both you and I will have a clear understanding of which topics have been covered and how far we have progressed.
