About Me

My interest in music dates back to childhood—the day when, at the age of eight, the sound of the kamancheh from a concert etched itself into my memory, even though I didn’t yet know the name of the instrument. From that moment on, the desire to understand and play it became a part of my life’s journey. I am Ava Ghavidel, a graduate with a Bachelor's degree in Music from the University of Tehran, and currently a Master's student in Composition at the same university. Alongside my academic education, I’ve gained experience in playing the kamancheh, piano, solfège, and composition, and I continue to walk the path of learning and creating music. In recent years, driven by my passion for the world of children and my concern for their healthy and joyful development, I’ve also entered the field of children's music. For me, music is not just a skill—it’s a medium for exploring creativity, building safe spaces, and connecting with the deeper layers of ourselves and others, whether children or adults. My teaching priorities are joy, safety, and inner growth for each student. If you’d like music to become a part of your life too, I’d be happy to accompany you on that journey.

Teaching Method

In my opinion, the most important part of the class process is your goal and how much time you’d like to dedicate to music. Generally, we begin with an introduction to the necessary concepts in music theory, and a handout will be provided. Then, we start working with the Honarestan series by Master Khaleghi (for violin), and along the way, pieces related to each lesson will be specially designed for you. Usually, at the end of each session, we review what was covered, and to ensure the student feels more at ease, we go over the piece for the following week together and address any potential difficulties. To add variety and enjoyment to the class, we also play well-known pieces and songs the student is interested in. This class is suitable for ages 8 and up. I’d be happy to accompany you on this musical journey.
