About Me

I am a Human Biology student at the University of Toronto, with minors in Immunology and Physiology. I currently work as a tutor in Toronto and previously volunteered as an AP Chemistry tutor at my high school. I found my interest in teaching through how I study myself: I often imagine I’m teaching a concept to someone else to understand it more deeply, and that approach shapes how I explain things to students. I teach students from K-12 across English, math, and science, including chemistry, biology, and physics, and my students come from diverse backgrounds and a wide range of abilities. I’m fluent in English and Farsi, and I’ve studied all subjects in both English and Farsi from a young age. I completed the last two years of high school in Toronto, and I studied at an IB school from kindergarten through grade 10, giving me experience with both the Ontario (Advanced Placement and University level courses) and IB systems.

Teaching Method

I begin with a diagnostic test to assess each student’s abilities, existing knowledge, and learning style (visual, auditory, reading/writing, or kinesthetic), then design a personalized lesson plan built around each unit’s goals. Plans include worksheets with knowledge, thinking, conceptual, and application questions. Explanations break concepts into smaller, manageable steps with example questions. Students receive practice tests and regular check-ins, with unit tests to assess understanding against the goals outlined at the start of each lesson plan.
