About Me
I am Hanieh Torkian, a biologist and researcher. I completed my bachelor's degree in Plant Biology at Shahid Beheshti University and then pursued a master's degree in Animal Cell Development at Royan Institute, where I conducted my thesis on cancer research. Additionally, during this time, I collaborated on projects related to stem cells. For me, biology is more than just a science—it’s a way of thinking. I have always loved talking to others about the fascinating world around us and showing them how intelligently, creatively, and beautifully living systems function. I believe that seeing ourselves as part of an intelligent universe not only shapes our worldview and changes our perspective on life but also helps us find answers to many of our questions within these intricate and interconnected living systems.
Teaching Method
My goal is to move biology away from being seen as a subject that requires rote memorization and instead teach it in an analytical way. If biology is presented to students step by step, in a chain-like sequence, combined with video clips, visuals, and engaging, practical facts, the learning process becomes much faster and far more enjoyable. In my view, nature is incredibly creative, and therefore, the way it’s taught should be equally creative. This approach helps students connect more deeply with this science and its vast, fascinating world.
