About Me
My name is Mehri Mehrjoo. I earned my PhD in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Communications from the University of Waterloo in Canada. I’ve had the privilege of teaching mathematics and mathematics-related courses in both Canada and Iran. This experience has given me a deep understanding of common challenges students face when learning math and their specific areas of weakness. I believe the key to effective math education is to start by showing students how the concepts they're learning will be relevant to their lives. By breaking down complex problems into simpler steps, I can help students build a solid foundation in math. I know a student truly grasps a concept when they can explain it to me in their own words, using simple language and creating a narrative around the problem.
Teaching Method
To ensure consistency with the student's in-school curriculum, I request that they bring their school textbooks or notes to our introductory session. Based on the specific exercises and problems assigned by their teacher, I tailor my tutoring sessions accordingly. During online classes, I utilize a tablet and stylus for writing, and students have the option of taking screenshots or requesting copies of the notes.
