About Me
I am Mitra Safarkhani, a violin and viola player and teacher, as well as a solfège and music theory instructor. I have been active in music education and performance for many years and have experience teaching students of different ages and skill levels. My educational background includes a Master’s degree in Music, specializing in Western Classical Instruments, a Bachelor’s degree in Persian Language and Literature, and a diploma from a Music Conservatory. I have also completed a specialized course in Music Pedagogy under the supervision of Professor Franziska Frick from the Zurich University of the Arts. Throughout my professional career, I have taught violin and viola at more than 15 music schools, schools of art and literature, and the University of Art and Architecture. I have also taught violin and piano in Malaysia, as well as providing online instruction in violin, viola, solfège, and other areas of music. In my teaching, I strive to adapt my approach to the age, level, goals, and individual characteristics of each student. To me, music education is not simply about learning notes and technique; developing musical ear, understanding music, creativity, confidence, and fostering genuine interest and motivation are equally important. My goal is to provide each student with a professional, warm, and motivating learning environment where they can pursue their musical growth with enthusiasm and confidence.
Teaching Method
My teaching approach is based on structured, creative instruction tailored to the age, level, and goals of each student. Alongside teaching proper playing technique, music reading, and the fundamentals of music, I focus on developing each student’s musical ear, sense of rhythm, musical expression, and confidence. For children, I use play-based methods, singing, movement, and musical activities to make learning engaging and enjoyable. For adult students and more advanced learners, I place greater emphasis on technique, musical interpretation, accurate performance, and gradual, step-by-step progress. My goal is for each student to progress according to their own abilities and learning pace while, alongside learning professional fundamentals, developing a genuine enjoyment of playing and experiencing music.
