About Me
My name is Mohammad, and I am a percussionist. I was born in Kurdistan, where music and dance are an integral part of the culture. As a child, I was curious about this art form, so I started learning the Tombak (Kind of drum) from one of my close relatives. After a few years, music became very important to me, so I moved from my hometown to pursue further education. I was accepted into a university, where I studied industrial design. Over the past 15 years, I have studied the tombak, cajón, percussion, and drums with some of the greatest music teachers, including Bahman Rajabi, Kambiz Ganjei, Homayoun Nasiri, Roozbeh Fedai, and Amin Taheri. Currently, I am a member of the band "Unlucky Ninjas". I also work with the children's TV shows and teach at several music schools.
Teaching Method
In my opinion, the age and perspective of the students towards music is important in the teaching method. Based on this, the main structure of my teaching method consists of teaching sight-reading (reading notes), performing various movements specific to each instrument, learning different rhythms, and teaching playing along with age-appropriate songs and melodies by ear Considering my work with children and the knowledge I have of them, I combine teaching and playing when working with children. This includes rhythmic games to help them understand the timing of musical notes, as well as using children's songs to help them understand rhythm. The books that I work with my students during classes include: Tombak: "Mr. Hesabi's Introduction to Tombak Playing", "Tombak Playing by Amir-Naser Eftekhar", and "Master Rajabi" Cajón and Drums: cajon- Matthias Philipzen Stick Control For The Snare Drummer 1001 Drum Grooves
