About Me
I grew up with music; I had been playing the piano since I was seven and in Iran I was mostly drawn to performing Persian pieces. But after I emigrated to Canada in 2018, my outlook and interest in music changed. The new environment led me to classical music, especially classical piano, and I decided to pursue that path more seriously. That passion helped me gain admission to the University of Victoria and the University of Vancouver and complete my undergraduate degree in music. For me, music is more than a skill or a profession; it has been a support that kept me strong through the migration process, helped me cope with challenges, and allowed me to know myself more deeply. Music is an experience that engages the mind and the emotions simultaneously, brings a person closer to their inner truth, and functions like meditation. I believe music is not merely a side activity but can hold a serious, central place in a person’s life—whether as a primary interest and career, or as a refuge for calm and relief from daily fatigue. My motivation is to accompany you on this journey and, through teaching and sharing my experience, help you experience music as a bridge to self-discovery, peace, and inner growth.
Teaching Method
My teaching method is flexible and tailored to each student’s age, level, interests, and goals—whether you are a child or an adult, whether your aim is to enjoy music in your free time or to prepare for formal exams and a professional path. I believe that everyone enters the world of music with their own motivation and reason, and this should be taken into account in their learning journey. For beginner students, I usually use the *Piano Adventures* series, as it offers a step-by-step and effective method for starting piano playing. Moving forward, my main focus is on piano technique: the correct position of the hands and fingers on the piano, among other aspects, which form the foundation for steady progress. Alongside this, I pay attention to each student’s personal interests so that learning becomes not only educational but also an enjoyable experience. I am also fully familiar with the *Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM)* method and, if students wish, I can support them in preparing for this institution’s official exams. In addition to piano performance, subjects such as music theory and ear training are also included in the curriculum depending on the student’s level and needs. For children, I use creative methods such as drawing and coloring to make learning music a sweet and inspiring experience.
