About Me

Hi! I’m Shima 👋 I’ve been teaching math and English for over 6 years, and for more than 3 years I’ve been teaching in Canada. During this time, I’ve helped many students significantly improve their grades and, more importantly, build confidence in their learning. I hold a Master’s degree in Mathematics, which gives me a deep understanding of concepts and allows me to explain even the most difficult topics in a simple and clear way. But what truly sets me apart is my PhD studies in Neuroscience (Cognitive Science). This means my teaching is not just about transferring information it is designed based on how the brain actually learns. I understand exactly why some students struggle with focus, why math feels difficult for them, and most importantly, how to turn these challenges into strengths. My teaching approach combines deep knowledge, scientific techniques, and a real understanding of each student’s needs. Many of my students have achieved noticeable progress in a short time from improving their grades to completely overcoming stress and fear of the subject. I design a fully personalized learning path for each student to ensure the best possible results. Teaching Method

My teaching method is fully personalized, results-driven, and based on the science of learning. Every student has their own learning style, pace, and challenges, so there is no fixed plan. I design a customized path for each individual. In sessions, the main focus is on deep conceptual understanding (not memorization), strengthening problem-solving skills, and building confidence. Using neuroscience-based techniques, I help students improve focus, learn faster, and retain information for longer. Programs include: ✔️ Strengthening foundational knowledge and addressing weak areas ✔️ Exam preparation (including EQAO) ✔️ Targeted, level-based practice ✔️ Progress tracking and regular feedback to parents The class environment is always supportive, stress-free, and motivating, because I believe the best learning happens when students feel safe and confident. My goal is not only to improve grades, but also to help build a strong, independent, and successful mindset in learning.
