About Me

My name is Sobhan Sarabi, and I am a teacher of tar and setar. Since childhood, the sound of music has been fascinating and full of unknowns for me. I wanted to know how these sounds are produced! Therefore, twenty-one years ago in the summer, when I was a teenager, I went and enrolled in summer music classes and chose the setar as my first instrument. The world of music is so fascinating for me that all the hardships of learning and working are sweet and enjoyable for me. I have always wanted to convey this sweetness and fascination because I have learned that what matters is being on the right path. Music gave me a purpose in life, so let's live together.

Teaching Method

For beginners, I've selected the first two volumes of Master Jalal Zolfonoun's book, along with an introduction to fundamental music theory, as our starting point. As students progress and their needs evolve, I'll introduce a variety of exercises. Once we've completed these two volumes, we'll delve into the seven Dastgahs (musical modes) of Persian traditional music, either by ear or through the guidance of Master Dariush Talaie's book. Alongside this, we'll explore the works of renowned musical figures.
