About Yalda Night

The longest and darkest night of the year

🍎🍉🌙

Yalda Night, or Chelleh Night, is one of the most beautiful ancient Iranian festivals; a night that highlights togetherness, family warmth, and small joys. On Yalda Night, families gather, read Hafez poems and stories, and celebrate light and life with symbolic foods like pomegranate and watermelon. This night reminds us all of the moment light triumphs over darkness, and winter begins with hope and freshness. Yalda, whether in Iran or far away, is a celebration that brings hearts closer together.

Darsoon Yalda Exhibition

This year, Darsoon is back with renewed energy and good vibes to host a special Yalda exhibition dedicated to children and teenagers. We have created a warm, intimate, and inviting space for Iranian families living abroad, enabling them to craft a memorable and authentic Yalda Night (Shab-e Yalda), even if they are thousands of kilometers away from Iran.

Why Darsoon Yalda Exhibition?

For many Iranian parents in the diaspora, finding culturally appropriate Yalda products, Persian books, creative crafts, or engaging events and workshops suitable for their kids is not always easy. That is exactly why we have gathered all these lovely contents, resources, and events in one comprehensive platform. We want to ensure that Yalda is both tangible and exciting for children, helping them connect with their heritage in a fun and meaningful way.

Bringing Yalda to Life for Kids

The celebration of Yalda Night is always filled with vibrant colors, captivating stories, laughter, and sweet experiences for little ones. It represents a unique opportunity to pass down traditions. From making watermelon and pomegranate crafts to listening to ancient tales from the Shahnameh or Hafez, and watching delightful Yalda animations, these are the moments that bring Iranian culture closer to children in the simplest and most attractive forms. Our primary goal is to make these precious cultural experiences easily accessible to families living far from their homeland.
