About Me

My name is Nastaran Seyed-Rezaei, and for as long as I can remember, I’ve had a passion for teaching—especially teaching languages. That’s why I chose to study English Translation at university. After graduating, I began teaching English, but I soon realized that it wasn’t exactly what I was looking for. Then I came across the field of Teaching Persian to Speakers of Other Languages (T.PSOL), and I pursued my master’s degree in it. Teaching Persian to a foreigner—or to fellow Iranians living abroad—is quite different from teaching English. Although teaching one’s mother tongue is more challenging, it’s also so rewarding that the difficulties fade away. The language learners' mistakes when learning Persian are sweet and amusing to me, and hearing them opens up new perspectives—it helps me understand how people in other languages express concepts. Through teaching Persian, not only do I teach, but I also learn alongside my students: a new language, a new culture, and new ways of thinking.

Teaching Method

In my Persian classes, I tailor the lessons based on your goals and learning style. I use both available teaching resources and also prepare customized materials for each learner, as relying on a single source is not enough. The classes focus on all four language skills: reading, writing, listening, and speaking. Alongside language instruction, I also incorporate elements of Persian culture and literature into the lessons. For children, language, alphabet, and literature are taught through games, stories, and poems. After each session, a summary of the lesson and the assigned homework is shared with you, dear parents.
