About Me
Hello, I’m Alireza Salehi, a math teacher and origami instructor. I remember liking math from the very first day of school. Being able to measure, count, discover reasons, recognize shapes, make comparisons, and solve puzzles and problems I didn’t know the answers to always made me happy. When I entered the field of mathematics at university, I felt more deeply how much math influences thinking and understanding various aspects of life. I had already started teaching math in those years, and each time I taught, it revealed hidden aspects of mathematics to me. Over the years, I have tried to share the beauty of mathematical thinking with others—and to learn from them as well.
Teaching Method
My teaching approach is usually based on the understanding I gain of my audience. I try to play the role of a companion and guide rather than a talkative teacher. In class, I use many different examples from familiar experiences and phenomena we’ve seen or heard about to clarify the topics, so that students can feel a closer connection to the subject. In most of my classes, my students speak more than I do, and I support them so they can reach the learning goal on their own and better experience the joy of learning.
