About Me

My introduction to the enchanting world of music began at a friend's house, where we were treated to a mesmerizing performance on the santour, a traditional Persian stringed instrument. As I conversed with the young musician, I discovered that she was pursuing a degree in music at the conservatory. Music had always held a special place in our home, filling the air with its soothing melodies and vibrant rhythms. But that day, something shifted. Upon returning home, I spent the following days peppering my parents with questions about the santour and the art of playing music. It was then that I made a resolute decision to embark on my own musical journey. My parents, recognizing my budding passion, wholeheartedly supported my aspiration to attend the conservatory. On the day we visited the conservatory to inquire about the admission process, the atmosphere was buzzing with anticipation as aspiring musicians gathered for the entrance exam. The officials informed me that I had missed the deadline, but a glimmer of hope emerged when an inquiry revealed that basic knowledge of solfège and music theory was a prerequisite, along with proficiency on an instrument. Despite my lack of formal training, I held onto that sliver of hope. Moments later, the conservatory supervisor approached me, offering me a chance to audition. With a mixture of nervousness and excitement, I stepped into the examination room, where my rhythmic and tonal abilities were assessed. Days later, the news arrived – I had been accepted! Overwhelmed with joy, I realized that despite my lack of instrumental experience, the constant exposure to music within our home had subconsciously nurtured my musical aptitude. Drawn to the rich, deep tones of the oud, I embarked on my musical journey with this captivating instrument.

Teaching Method

My teaching methodology adheres to a rigorous academic approach, aligning with the conservatory's curriculum. Initially, I utilize the materials provided by my esteemed professors and the conservatory's tar and setar textbooks. Subsequently, I delve into the works of renowned maestros such as Mr. Behrouz Nia and Master Nariman, exploring their preludes, colors, and chahardastghab, as well as instrumental pieces by both classical and contemporary composers. My curriculum also encompasses the radif of Mirza Abdullah, the vocal radif of Abolhassan Khan Dehlavi, and a diverse range of supplementary materials.
