About Me
Like many others, it was through the voice of Master Shajarian that I fell in love with Persian music. My first teacher, Master Mohammad Esmaeil Ghanbari, took my hand and showed me the way. Later, I benefited from the valuable experiences of masters such as Amir Esnaashari, Hossein Alishapour, and Mehdi Emami. Today, I am truly happy to have the opportunity to sing with you as part of the wonderful and professional Darsoun community. I am here not just as a teacher, but as a companion. Together, we will experience the sweet and delightful moments of music and learn from one another.
Teaching Method
In our class, we don’t just sing. We first work a little on the voice and on techniques that are essential for performing Persian singing, such as *tahrir* (vocal trills), proper note sustaining, breath control, vocal warm-ups, clear articulation of words, and both connected and separated *tahrirs*. These exercises help shape the voice and prepare it for singing. Alongside these practices, we gradually move on to classical songs (*tasnifs*) and sections of the *radif* of Persian music, so that we can both get familiar with the world of persian musical modes (Dastgah) music and enjoy singing authentic melodies. Part of the class is also dedicated to reading poetry. Together, we read poems by great masters like Saadi, reflect on their meanings, and learn how to express poetry beautifully and correctly in singing. The goal is for the class to be both an educational journey and a sweet experience of music and poetry.
