Parisa Mahmoudi

About Me

Hello, my name is Parisa Mahmoudi, and I am currently a philosophy student. I used to study mathematics, but while working on my thesis, I encountered a number of questions that led me to change my path in this direction. I began teaching with mathematics, and now I have been teaching French for about four years. Almost any medium that, in some way, reflects human life and concerns sparks my curiosity. That’s why I have diverse interests, and as much as life has allowed, I’ve tried to keep them alive. These very interests have been both my motivation for learning languages and the method by which I learned them. I acquired English and French by engaging with first-hand content, and I make frequent use of the same approach in my classes. I believe there is no reason for people to turn into identical students the moment they step into a classroom—the unique abilities, interests, and concerns of each person accompany them there.

Teaching Method

The courses I run are usually thematic; that is, the teacher creates an environment where learners actively engage with a topic or situation. This way, the process of thinking in the new language takes shape in their minds, and linguistic features and structures are taught within that same context. Based on your interests and abilities, I draw on various resources to make your learning path personalized and smooth. At lower levels, this engagement focuses more on everyday situations, and we use excerpts or dialogues designed to teach specific grammar points or vocabulary to get our minds accustomed to the language. Once we’ve reached a reasonable command of the language structures, we can then move toward topics we’re interested in, so that interacting with the new language becomes part of our daily habits.
